Nøgne Ø – Sunturnbrew – 4 out of 7

Sunturnbrew

Nøgne Ø – Sunturnbrew from Grimstad, Norway. A beer brewed on the shortest day of the year is a concept that everyone seems to love, but the final score came out telling a story of indifference. This beer was reviewed at one of SBM’s infamous smoke beer tasting parties. When beers are reviewed in this type of setting, we usually come up short on details, but with the well informed group of people all entering their own scores (which are surprisingly similar I’ve come to find), I am able to provide an average score.

Some descriptions include: Pretty sweet, thick, not much smokey, boozy, Robert Redford & Louis Anderson (no idea what was meant by those descriptors, but I’m committed to providing you the reader with all the information I’m given), cough syrupy on the back of the throat, like Mikkeller, and too syrupy. Everything else listed is either illegible or redundant, which happens at drinking parties. Below are the scores for each of our scored categories.
