Flying Dog Brewery – Pearl Necklace Oyster Stout – 5 out of 7 Smokestacks

Flying Dog Pearl

Ale brewed with oysters. Not sure if this counts as a smokebeer, but it was another one recommended by the trustworthy community leader at D&Q in Houston, and he described this as a smokebeer, right or wrong. Some samples of this that I have had come out smokier than others, and this last one came out a little ashy. Another Flying Dog beer that I’ve had, Dog Schwartz, was tasted at the 1st smokebeer tasting The Ministry ever held, and the memories are still strong, and the Schwartz came out more highly favored… maybe this blog will help convince Flying Dog to drum up another batch of that one. Towards the tail end of this oyster stout, the taste comes out sweet. Instructions: drink a couple of beers, next, get out the oyster stout, then drink and review. Overall Happiness: 5 Smokestacks.
