Aecht Schlenkerla – Fastenbier – 7 out of 7

Schlenkerla can do no wrong in His eyes. This beer is what happens when you open the doors of your holy sanctuary to the nectar of the gods. It cannot be understated that SmokeBeerMinistry walks in stride with this marriage, en route to beatification.

Fastenbier (aka Lentbeer) is based in the tradition of being served between Ash Wednesday and Easter when many Christians observe 40 days of fasting. It is written “liquida non frangunt ieiunium” (liquids do not break the fast). For everyone who likes smokebeers, Schlenkerla has one for you, and Fastenbier must have been brewed especially for the ministry officials in SmokeBeerMinistry. This is another great smokebeer with a touch of bitterness on the back end. Ignite the thurible and allow the aspergillum to rain holiness upon you. Enjoy.

Brewer Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier
Beer Name Fastenbier
Brewer’s Description The Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer is an unfiltered smokebeer, brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Bottom-fermenting yeast gives the reddish brown lentbeer a natural cloudiness. Its smokey aroma is already noticeable in the smell, combined with a fine hoppy note. In the drink the fullbodied, highly drinkable lentbeer shows its strong malty flavour, rounded up with the smokey taste and a light bitterness. Due to the nourishing yeast, the Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer has the “Brotzeit already included” (German word for afternoon snack).
