Green Jack Brew – Red Herring Smoked Ale (draft) – 4 out of 7

20160930_221526.jpg

Red Herring beer by Green Jack Brew has been revived to little acclaim. Found at Sergio’s of Louisville, KY USA, this beer came off as a mildly smoky mildly sour beer. It was good smoke though. Nice campfire notes with solid beer malt tastes (as opposed to any number of non-traditional ingredients that only cloud and confuse the pallet without delivering any additional units of pleasure upon drinking). Red Herring is a good everyday drinker that could be slipped into someone’s glass without much fuss, regardless of their preference. This beer is not bad, and this beer is not great, just a middle of the road beer that doesn’t bother anybody and holds onto the minimum number of pieces of flair requested. Overall smokestacks of flair =4 smokestacks out of a possible 7 smokestacks.
